Two new agreements to develop our international training capabilities
As part of the CODATU meetings held in Paris on Wednesday 25 September 2024, CODATU signed two agreements: with AFTRAL, represented by its Chairman Loïc Charbonnier, and with Senghor University, represented by its Rector Thierry Verdel.
Loïc Charbonnier, Chairman of AFTRAL and Thibault de Lambert, Secretary General of CODATU
AFTRAL is an institute responsible for training in driving, logistics and handling. A leader in this sector in France, the institution has been looking to the international arena for several years now, notably with the establishment of a training centre in Côte d’Ivoire. It is therefore only natural that AFTRAL and CODATU should wish to combine their highly complementary activities through an agreement, in order to work together in the field of training in urban mobility, in the broadest sense of the term.
Thierry Verdel, Rector of Senghor University and Thibault de Lambert, Secretary General of CODATU
Senghor University is a leading higher education and research institution on the African continent, founded in 1990. Based in Alexandria, Egypt, the university offers training geared towards the development of the African continent and plays a central role as an operator of the French-speaking world, at the heart of international networks. Senghor University and CODATU have been working together for several years now, as demonstrated by the number of training projects they have carried out together: 2 Master’s programmes on urban mobility in Africa, several short courses, a MOOC on urban mobility that has attracted a large audience, etc. This agreement also marks the continuity and continuation of existing exchanges, which we hope will enable us to continue working together to train managers, technicians and experts in the field of urban mobility.
These agreements are part of CODATU’s drive to create synergies with other players in the training, mobility and international fields.
