CODATU @ COP22 to present MobiliseYourCity

From
7th to 18th November 2016, the 22nd Conference of the Parties (COP22) will be hosted by Morocco in the city of Marrakesh.

The Paris Agreement was adopted in December 2015 at COP21 in Paris and has entered into force, since at least 55 Parties to the Convention, accounting for at least 55 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions deposited their instruments of ratification, acceptance and approval with the United Nations.

This COP will be the COP of action stakeholders agree, and the international climate community is looking towards to concrete implementation to start now international efforts to reduce GHG.
CODATU will take an active part to this mobilisation towards a low carbon future. In the field of urban mobility indeed, MobiliseYourCity, the multi-stakeholder that CODATU originated, is taking-off: much has been achieved since its official announcement by French Minister of Environment and President of COP21 Ségolène Royal in Paris last year: together with our partners (AFD, ADEME, CEREMA, GIZ), we raised funds and structured the methodology and the governance of the initiative. We will soon establish a secretariat in Brussels and are now ready to start implementing the initiative on the ground. In some countries (Cameroon, Morocco), first workshops have even already taken place.
During the COP22, Ms Royal will officially launch the implementation phase of the initiative, and announce the first cities and countries selected to be part of the initiative during a high level event on the French Pavilion on the 11th November, just after the very first steering committee of the initiative.

Please find below the detailed agenda of all the interventions where CODATU will be involved. We hope to see you in Marrakesh for this exciting moment!
