PADDI & IMV: “Making the City: cross-reading methods and tools of urban planning in France and Viet Nam. Capitalization of experiences of decentralized cooperation “

Result
of
a collaborative effort between the PADDI and the “Institut des Métiers de la Ville” (structure of cooperation between the Ile-de-France and Hanoi) with support from the French Development Agency (AFD), this book aims to capitalize exchanges carried out over several years in the framework of decentralized cooperation in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. This book discusses the history of the administrative organization, methods and planning tools or socio-economic mechanisms of large urban areas involved in the partnership: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the Ile-de-France, the Rhône-Alpes region and the Greater Lyon.

Five major themes considered the main concerns of the two Vietnamese cities are treated in this book: Urban and regional planning; urban land; urban public transport; housing; urban heritage.
