Since 1980, CODATU has been organising scientific conferences on transport and urban mobility in the South. These scientific conferences give rise to calls for papers and publications (special issues in the journal Case Studies on Transport Policy), and aim to develop knowledge and exchanges between researchers from the North and the South.
For information, the papers of the XVIII CODATU Conference can be found here.
From time to time, the Conferences are also an opportunity to promote the work of young researchers, in particular through prizes for the best thesis on urban mobility in the cities of the South.
CODATU’s scientific activities continue through its involvement in international scientific networks, such as:
- The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, with which CODATU launched the Sustainable Urban Mobility Network (RéMUD) in 2020.
- the World Conference Transport Research Society (WCTRS).
This partnership translates into the participation of CODATU in the WCTRS Special Interest Group H5 “Urban Transport in Developing Countries”, and results in the organisation of a special CODATU session at the World Conference on Transport Research. More than 80 papers will be presented at the CODATU session of the Conference in Montreal, in June 2023.
CODATU also benefits from privileged relations with the PRODIG laboratory (UMR 8586), to which one of the association’s project leaders is associated.
