CODATU à la COP22 pour présenter MobiliseYourCity
Du 7 au 18 novembre, la 22ème
Conférence des Parties, la COP22 est accueillie par le Maroc à Marrakech.
L’Accord de Paris a été adopté en Décembre 2015 pendant la COP21 à Paris et est entré en vigueur moins d’un an après, 55 « parties », comptant pour au moins 55% des émissions de Gaz à Effet de Serre (GES) ayant ratifié l’accord.
Cette COP doit être la COP de l’action, telle que l’appelle de ses vœux la communauté internationale mobilisée pour le climat. Elle doit être résolument tournée vers la mise en œuvre et consacrer la très forte mobilisation pour réduire les émissions de GES sans plus attendre.
CODATU compte bien prendre une part active à cette mobilisation pour un futur sobre en carbone. En effet, matière de mobilité urbaine, MobiliseYourCity, l’initiative multi-acteurs dont CODATU est à l’origine, est en plein développement : depuis son annonce officielle à Paris lors de la COP21 par Mme Ségolène Royal, Ministre française de l’Environnement et Présidente de la COP21, CODATU et ses partenaires (ADEME, AFD, CEREMA, GIZ) ont levé des fonds (plus de 25M €) et structuré la méthodologie et la gouvernance de l’initiative. Le secrétariat de l’initiative à Bruxelles ouvrira début janvier 2017, et nous serons alors prêts à mettre en œuvre MobiliseYourCity sur le terrain. Au Cameroun et au Maroc, les premiers ateliers ont d’ailleurs déjà eu lieu.
Pendant la COP22 à Marrakech, Mme Royal lancera officiellement la phase de mise en œuvre de l’initiative et annoncera la liste des premières villes qui rejoindront officiellement l’initiative lors d’un événement de haut niveau sur le pavillon France le 11 novembre de 15h à 16h, juste après le premier comité de pilotage qui se tiendra dans la matinée du même jour.

Integrated into the Global Climate Action Agenda, MobiliseYourCity is an international multi-donor initiative that supports Non-Annex 1 local and national governments in the implementation of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans and Policies. One year after its official launch during COP21, its main supporters (France, Germany and the EU Commission) together with its implementing partners (ADEME, AFD, CEREMA, CODATU and GIZ) wish to kick-start implementation through the signing of a series of agreements and the announcement of the first beneficiaries joining the initiative.

Similar to Transport Day 2015, it is planned that the program will be a combination of plenary and break-out sessions with possibilities for interaction through coffee breaks, lunch and a reception at the end of Transport Day 2016. The plenary sessions will be moderated by a single moderator, while break-out sessions will be moderated by SLoCaT members and others who have volunteered to organize those break-out sessions.

MYC BackgroundMobiliseYourCity (MYC) is a global climate initiative for integrated urban mobility planning, and is one of 18 international transport initiatives of the UN Global Climate Action Agenda (GCAA). MYC is supported by the French Ministry of Environment, Energy and The Sea (MEEM), the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM), the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO). The initiative was launched as a multi-donor initiative at COP21 in Paris by the founding partners: ADEME, CODATU, AFD, CEREMA and GIZ. Besides the contribution to the international climate process, the MYC initiative contributes to the UN’s Agenda 2030, specifically Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
