Christian Philip, Interim President of CODATU
Following his appointment to the government, Mr. François DUROVRAY, President of CODATU, is stepping down and proposes the designation of Mr. Christian PHILIP to ensure the interim presidency of the association.
The President of CODATU, François DUROVRAY, has decided to step down from his role as President within CODATU, following his appointment as Minister Delegate for Transport. This withdrawal could be effective for the duration of his ministerial term, subject to the opinion of the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life regarding the compatibility of these two mandates.
François Durovray has been particularly involved as president since his appointment in 2021, focusing on sustainable mobility issues championed by CODATU, as evidenced by his presence in Bogotá in June 2023 and in Antananarivo in April 2024 at the mobility forums organized by our association. For CODATU, his efforts have contributed significantly to the continued growth of the organization in a context shaken by the COVID pandemic, and to building the future of CODATU around a new strategic plan and a more agile governance that better addresses today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. CODATU is therefore immensely grateful to him for this work.
At the suggestion of François DUROVRAY, Christian PHILIP, currently vice-president and who previously presided over our association from 2000 to 2010, is expected to assume the interim presidency, following the approval of the Board meeting held on 16 October 2024.
Christian PHILIP is an honorary professor of law, a specialist in European issues, and was an academy rector. He served as the first deputy mayor of Lyon and president of SYTRAL from 1995 to 2001, and was subsequently a deputy for Rhône from 2002 to 2007.
