CODATU at FISAT in Abidjan
On Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November 2024, the 8ᵉ edition of the International Forum and African Transport Exhibition (FISAT) was held in Abidjan. This event, under the theme Transport, Logistics and Infrastructure: The user at the heart of policies and strategies, provided an opportunity for players in the sector to exchange and share their experiences on transport-related issues in Africa.
CODATU led a panel discussion on multimodal transport in Africa, with the participation of a representative from AMUGA, the Greater Abidjan Urban Mobility Authority, and SOTRA, the Abidjan Transport Company.
The discussion provided an opportunity to address the current problems of mobility in Greater Abidjan and the actions being taken to remedy the difficulties. It also provided an opportunity to consider the outlook for the region in the light of the major projects and the actions developed to support changes in mobility.
The importance of considering all modes of transport and guaranteeing their efficiency, particularly with regard to public transport, was emphasised, as was the need to ensure optimum connections between them through appropriate developments.
