Codatu publishes the ‘Recommendations for a successful cable car project in cities of the Global South’

This publication is the result of the working group organised by Codatu, which brought our members together to reflect collectively on the following question: How can a cable transport project be successfully implemented in a city in the Global South?
This working group was launched at Codatu’s initiative after observing an increasing number of urban cable project proposals in the field and receiving questions about this mode of transport from partners in cities in the Global South. The four sessions that took place between November 2024 and February 2025 provided an opportunity to discuss all the technical, economic, institutional and social challenges of a cable transport project, from design to operation and evaluation.
We would like to thank our members who have actively contributed to this reflection, and we hope that this document will be useful to our partners in cities in the Global South to guide them and develop projects that meet the needs of the inhabitants.
We invite you to participate in the presentation webinar (in French) on Thursday 24 April at 3pm!
A working group led by Lucile Boudet, with the valuable support of Nicolas Bonvalet and Martin Jolain.
