CODATU signs an agreement with the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées
CODATU has signed an agreement with the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), represented by its director, Anthony Briant, as part of the CODATU meetings to be held in Paris on 10 December 2024.
The Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées is a French public higher education establishment founded in 1747, which trains top-level engineers, future leaders and researchers, particularly in subjects related to the challenges of ecological transition.
Since July 2024, the school has been a member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, a world-class science and technology institute comprising 6 prestigious French engineering schools: École polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, École nationale des pont et chaussées, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis.
ENPC and CODATU have been working together for a number of years, both in the higher education and research networks and in the French-speaking world, particularly in West Africa (Abidjan, Dakar), with both sides taking a keen interest in the urban mobility of cities in the South.
The 2 institutions share common objectives, namely to train young professionals in the challenges of sustainable urban mobility, to contribute to reflection on the issues in this sector, to the development of public policies and to the emergence of innovative solutions through support and exchange partnerships.
ENPC and CODATU have therefore decided to sign a partnership agreement in order to strengthen the links and coordination between the players in the urban mobility ecosystem, made up of North and South training and research players in the field of sustainable urban mobility (and in particular French-speaking institutions), the main French public transport operators and industrial players, international financial institutions and local authorities.
The areas of collaboration are as follows:
- CODATU’s involvement in ENPC’s training courses
- Support for students‘ studies (sharing documentation and contacts with key players, working with the teaching staff and promoting students’ work on urban mobility, relaying internship advertisements and job offers).
- Sharing data, information and any other material useful for the production of scientific knowledge.
- Expertise on institutional support for training establishments in the South on the subject of sustainable urban mobility
- Joint response to calls for projects and management of research projects
- Setting up training initiatives
- Collaboration on ad hoc events (international conferences, forums, etc.).
This agreement is in line with CODATU’s desire to create synergies with those involved in training, in relation to mobility and international issues.
