Mobilise Your City : training session for 13 Moroccan cities on MRV-GHG methods on urban transports
The Moroccan Minister of the Interior (DGCL), the MobiliseYourCity Partnership, the French Environment & Energy Management Agency (ADEME) and the consulting company I Care and Consult organised in Rabat a training session to Moroccan cities committed in the MobiliseYourCity Initiative for a sustainable urban mobility launched during the COP 21. The session was dedicated to awarness regarding climate and greenhouse gaz (GHG) emissions in urban transports ; it gathered around forty attendees, representing the relevant 13 Moroccan cities (Rabat-Salé-Temara, the Great Casablanca, Oujda, Kenitra, Khouribga, Marrakech, Agadir, Beni-Mellal, El-Jadida, Fès, Safi, Settat, Khemisset).
Several tools were presented:
– TRIGGER, a tool specifically calibrated for the evaluation of GHG emissions in urban transports on a given territory
– the Urban Mobility Monitoring System (SSMU in French) developed in Morocco by the Directorate General for Local Communities (DGCL in French) which enables the urban mobility-oriented informations to be centralised in order to have a better understanding and overview on the stakes they are facing
– CEREMA also presented the idea and principles of a local Observatory on mobility and the monitoring indicators to implement
The representants of the 13 MobiliseYourCity Partner cities expressed their expectations and identified their assistance needs.
