Having taken place in Paris last March, the initial one-day seminar on paratransit was jointly organised by CESSMA (UMR 245) and ESPACE (UMR 7300), with assistance from CODATU. Proposed as an discussion event to bring together students and researchers to start analysing paratransit operations and recent evolutions on various contexts, the one-day seminar benefitted from presentations from different research domains that highlight its diversity. The second one-day seminar on paratransit seeks to continue analysing these subjects; it will take place on March 2, in Marseille.
The second one-day seminar on paratransit is planned at the Université Aix-Marseille at the AMU Saint-Charles Campus (AMU Saint-Charles, 3 Place Victor Hugo). Presentation proposals have been analysed by the Scientific Committee; selected presentations have been organised into 4 sessions. A temporary programme is available on the CODATU webpage (the final version of the programme will be produced when all participants will have confirmed their attendance).
The 4 subjects around which the one-day seminar is organised are: (1) Transport and paratransit: Production modes of paratransit services; (2) Flexibility and adaptability to demand; (3) Integrated transport systems: Between technologies and organisation forms, what challenges? (Anglophone session); and (4) Formal and informal: Relationships with public authorities. Each session will be chaired by a transport expert. For each thematic session, there are three 15-min presentations. Furthermore, a professional from the urban transport field will complete the panel to discuss his/her visions on the three previous presentations.
