Opening of the Greater Antananarivo Urban Mobility Forum
The Greater Antananarivo Urban Mobility Forum officially opened on Wednesday 24 April 2024 at the CCI Ivato in Madagascar.
Organised under the patronage of His Excellency Mr Andry RAJOELINA, President of the Republic of Madagascar, under the patronage of Mr ANDRIANTSITOHAINA Naina, Minister of Decentralisation and Town and Country Planning and Mr RAMONJAVELO Valéry, Minister of Transport and Meteorology, with the collaboration of Agence Française de Développement (AFD) andCODATU, this Forum is the first national forum on urban mobility to be held in Antananarivo.
It brings together a number of key players in urban mobility in Greater Antananarivo: Malagasy and French public authorities, national and international technical consultants, and representatives of urban transport in Antananarivo.
François Durovray, President of CODATU, and the CODATU team made the trip to take part in the event and speak at sessions.
The Forum has a number of objectives: firstly, to facilitate dialogue between mobility stakeholders, so that they can take stock of the situation and diagnose the current context. Secondly, to launch a real dynamic around the pilot project that we are carrying out and around other mobility improvement projects for Antananarivo and the secondary towns, and thus define an operational roadmap for the years to come.
A number of issues were raised and possible solutions presented, which will be explored in greater depth during the four workshops to be held on 25 April, again with key players in urban mobility in Greater Antananarivo.
This event is supported by CODATU, l’Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Mobiliseyourcity, Suez, Transitec, DVDH, ATT, CUA, IPAM, IST, All Track.
