Context of the visit

AMUGA visits Istanbul and Izmir (Turkey) to discuss fares, ticketing, the management of major transport infrastructure projects, intermodality and multimodal interchange hubs, and the integration of paratransit into the conventional network.
This visit was organised as part of FEXTE Abidjan.

Goals

this study visit to Turkey focused on the implementation of a BRT system and intermodality at stations, the governance and integration of maritime transport into the land transport network, as well as transport pricing and the management of ticketing interoperability services (transport card, electronic wallet, passenger information). Another important aspect of the visit was the integration of the informal transport network, the dolmuş (paratransit), into the formal network.
