The NISTO project

NISTONew Integrated Smart Transport Options – is a transnational project funded by the European Commission’s programme INTERREG IVB with seven northwest-European partners.
The aim of NISTO is to develop a mobility planning toolkit facilitating the evaluation of smart mobility concepts. Focusing on the integration of different transport modes this includes all initiatives which enhance the traffic flow. The evaluation framework combines the assessment of sustainability through multi-criteria analysis (MCA) and stakeholder participation through the multi-actor multi-criteria analysis (MAMCA) leading to the appraisement of regional or local mobility projects in terms of their sustainability, stakeholder preferences, societal impact and policy target achievements. Particularly, it is suited for the early assessment of alternatives and the observation of the intervention impacts.
