Steering committee for the taxi be modernisation project in Antananarivo
On Tuesday 13 February 2024, CODATU was in charge of the steering committee for the taxi be modernisation project.
This steering committee is made up of the contracting authorities, the Ministry of Decentralisation and Town and Country Planning and the Ministry of Transport, the two municipalities involved in the project, the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo and the Rural Municipality of Ambohimangakely, the Land Transport Agency, the Agence Française de Développement and the Greater Antananarivo Town Planning Agency.
The agenda included validation of all the deliverables produced by CODATU, as well as decisions that will shape the project, such as the methodology for selecting the candidate to operate the bypass pilot bus line. The Copil also decided on the name of the overall taxi be modernisation project: the project will be called “Zotra Fitaratra” (Model Line).
The date of the Greater Antananarivo Mobility Forum, financed by MobiliseYourCity, was set for 24 and 25 April 2024. On 26 April, a special workshop will be held with the Mayors of Madagascar’s major cities to work on setting up projects, among other things.
This technical assistance is financed by the Agence Française de Développement.
