The Municipality of Ouagadougou at CODATU
The Delegation was officially welcomed by the elected representatives of Greater Lyon on 19 March 2024. This was an opportunity for Messrs TIENDREBEOGO, Vice-President of the Ouagadougou City Council, BAYIRI, Head of the Foresight, Planning and Studies Department, and ZERBO, Director of International Relations and Protocol, to visit CODATU‘s head office.
They expressed their great satisfaction at being able to meet up as a “family” with the members of our team, in the presence of many members of the Board.
The Burkinabe representatives have been working with CODATU experts for many years, including Héloïse CHAUMIER, Project Manager, and Thibault de LAMBERT, our General Secretary.
The delegation made the trip as part of a study visit to Greater Lyon, with which Ouagadougou has had a decentralised cooperation partnership for over 30 years.
Ouagadougou could also benefit from a bus donation from Greater Lyon in the coming months.
During the discussions, the representatives largely expressed their expectations of CODATU in terms of training Burkinabe executives to improve public transport in their country and, more broadly, throughout the African continent.
The delegation also discussed the forthcoming operation to count daily journeys in Greater Ouagadougou, to be implemented by the Greater Ouagadougou Transport Council as part of the urban mobility project.
