Visit by the CODATU Madagascar team to the Urban Commune of Toamasina at the start of its mobility diagnostic mission
On Tuesday 15 October 2024, the CODATU Madagascar team was received at Toamasina Town Hall by the Mayor and representatives of the Department of Transport and Urban Mobility. This visit was part of a mission, carried out from 14 to 18 October 2024, to carry out a summary diagnosis of mobility in the municipality.
The aim of the mission is to identify possible projects to improve urban mobility in Toamasina. The approach is based on gathering information from local authorities, users and transport stakeholders, such as owners of tuc-tucs, cyclo-pousses and former managers of bus cooperatives.
At the same time, the mission is making the local authority aware of the benefits of joining the ‘En parallèle, la mission sensibilise la commune à l’intérêt d’adhérer au programme “MobiliseYourCity’ programme, an initiative that could support Toamasina in structuring sustainable mobility policies.
